Mema's Rice Krispie Ditties

You've never had a Rice Krispie treat quite like this one! This addicting little dessert is easy to make and perfect for any occasion. Loaded with peanut butter, butterscotch, and chocolate—there's so much to love about it. It's crunchy, fudgy and all-around rich. And the best part is that there's no real baking required!

Growing up, my grandma who I refer to as "Mema," made this special treat for us all the time and boy did we look forward to it! When I told my parents I was making this recipe, I forgot to mention at first that it was going on my blog. Let's just say my dad was not too happy with me when I didn't bring any home for him to try because they were still chilling and I needed to get some pics. (Oops! Sorry Dad, I promise I'll make you all the Rice Krispie Ditties you want when you're back home.)



What You Will Need:

  • 1 Cup Nestles Butterscotch Morsels

  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter (creamy)

  • 4 Cups Kelloggs Rice Krispies Cereal

  • 1 Cup Nestles Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

  • 1/2 Cup Confectioners Sugar

  • 2 TBSP Butter

  • 1 TBSP Water (until chocolate melts)

Instructions:

  1. Melt Nestles Butterscotch morsels with Peanut Butter in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring until well blended.

  2. Stir in Kelloggs Rice Krispies Cereal, one cup at a time until cereal is covered.

  3. Press half of this mixture into a buttered 8 inch square pan (I used

  4. Chill and set remainder of the mixture aside.

  5. In another pan, stir over hot water Nestles Semi-Sweet Chocolate morsels, Confectioners Sugar, Butter, and Water until chocolate is completely melted.

  6. Spread over chilled mixture.

  7. Top with reserved Rice Krispies mixture.

  8. Chill Again.

  9. Enjoy :)
