Founder and CEO
Meet Courtney Downey, the owner of Made In Metro. She is a Professional in Photography and Digital Marketing. Courtney graduated from Michigan State University in 2018 with a degree in Journalism and concentration in Media Marketing and has worked in the field for over 8 years. She has led hundreds of successful digital marketing campaigns for a variety of businesses. Made In Metro (the blog) was born in 2018 to explore the tastes of Metro Detroit and surrounding areas (and share her favorite recipes). Made In Metro (the business) was founded in February 2020.
When Courtney is not online working, she is exploring new restaurants and places around Metro Detroit, traveling and enjoying time with family and friends..

Graphic Design & Digital Account Manager
Michaela is a Graphic Designer and Photographer with a passion for creating visual experiences that inspire and excite people. In 2024, she graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Visual Media (Photography, Graphic Design, Video, and Marketing).
When not at work, you can find Michaela taking weekend adventures to explore the outdoors, photographing birds, working out at the gym, or cozying up with a good book.
Michaela is always ready to take on a new challenge and eager to create designs that bring a brand and its story to life.
Digital Account Manager
Grace Locke grew up in Metro Detroit, but studied and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Writing from Grand Valley State University in 2025. She concentrated in courses in fiction writing, web design, and editing and publishing.
With a creative background and a deep appreciation for language, Grace brings a thoughtful, engaging approach to digital content. Her work is driven by the belief that words can move people and that great marketing starts with a great story.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys reading, writing creatively, and dancing, all of which fuel her creativity and keep her inspired.
